8th Massachusetts Super Senior Amateur Championship

Eligibility:
Entries are open to amateur golfers who have reached their 65th birthday by October 4, 2021 and who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club not exceeding 12.0 (as determined by the August 5, 2021 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification.

 

Entry Procedures:

Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.

 

Format:

Competition will be in two stages;
1. Sectional Qualifying - 18 Holes at Stroke Play (For all except Exempt entrants).
2. Championship Proper - 36 Holes at Stroke Play

 

All Legends Division competitors (ages 70+) will also be competing for the overall championship (playing the same tees).

 

Field:

The Championship Proper field is limited to 120 players (approx.; based on qualifying ties).
 

Exemptions (Upon receipt of the online registration and fee, the players in the following categories are exempt from Sectional Qualifying); 2021 Super Senior Amateur Championship Exemptions

 

Schedule:

Sectional Qualifying; August 25 – September 16

Championship Proper;
Round 1 – October 4 (18 Holes)
***The low 70 scorers and ties after 18-holes will continue play on October 5
Round 2 – October 5 (18 Holes)
Any tie for first place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation:

Cart fee is included in entry fee for Championship Proper. Players may use caddies, pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) and/or automotive transportation during Sectional Qualifying or Championship Proper.

 

Food & Beverage:

A complimentary luncheon will be provided for all competitors on October 4.

 

Starting Times:

Qualifying Round Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries.

Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the last qualifier.

 

Prizes:

The Super Senior Amateur Trophy will be presented to the Champion. The Legends Division Trophy will be presented to the low-scorer age 70+. Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.

 

Practice Rounds:

Courtesy practice privileges are at the discretion of the host club(s). Mass Golf will provide details surrounding the availability of practice rounds ahead of the scheduled event; please refrain from contacting the host clubs until specific details are received from Mass Golf.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:

Competitors who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office (email preferred). Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified seven (7) days prior to the event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event.
